I can't sleep, so I'm getting some work (and research) done. I've posted "Under Bed Delivery" which is a new poem about dealing with anxiety and PTSD. It is about finding the ultimate hiding spot, something I've been obsessed with since I was little. Enjoy!
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2014
I just posted a new poem called "Bad Touches" which doesn't really need a description.
I do want to say, though, that if anyone who reads this relates and needs to or wants to discuss the issue, please feel free to e-mail me.
I've learned that mutual support is a good thing.
Also added another poem called "Résumé" about my acting work.

I was really upset after reading an article about Snapchat's CEO (correction: one of the developers, not the CEO) being a total douche bag, and sucking at life, so I wrote a poem about it. People seem to be liking it on SoundCloud, so I hope you do too. I'm working on another poem that will probably be finished today, so I'll post it when it's done.
"The Young Narcissists"
by Nicholas Emeigh
I ended up finishing and posting two more poems. "Amazing Motherhood," and "Radar" neither of which have readings yet, but I'll get them finished tomorrow. Enjoy!

So, yesterday, I recorded 17 readings for the following poems: A Makeshift Prayer, Airborne, Cocoon, Courage In Faith, Footprints, Fragile, Grounding Exercise, Half the Man, Machine Dreams, Manifesto, Not Cool, Not Crazy, Reconciliation, Studio System, The Surgeon, Treadmill, and War. And I just added a new poem called "Busy Museum" which I wrote today after getting home from therapy. I have also recorded a reading for it, so.... Enjoy!
I've also joined MySpace again and uploaded a few readings. Weird, right? I know.

It's a snow day here in Philadelphia. It's really beautiful, but there's a ton of it, and it makes for heavy shoveling. Good exercise, though. I just posted a poem called "Not Cool" and I'll be working on recording readings of the other new poems that don't have audio yet. (I ended up reading and posting 17 poetry readings to SoundCloud!) I'll be doing that and shoveling. Fun times! Enjoy!
"For me, acting is torturous," Hoffman told the New York Times in 2008, "and it’s torturous because you know it’s a beautiful thing. I was young once, and I said, That’s beautiful and I want that. Wanting it is easy, but trying to be great—well, that’s absolutely torturous. In the end, I’m grateful to feel something so deeply, and I’m also grateful that it’s over. And that’s my life.” ―Philip Seymour Hoffman (1967-2014)

Just posted a new poem called "Footprints" and will post a few more throughout the day. I know I'm not the only one who suffers from panic attacks, and most often they come on suddenly before I have a chance to do anything to stop them. I can't completely stop them from happening, but I wrote "Grounding Exercise" as something I can say to myself to lessen the intensity of the attack, and bring me back to a safe place.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 31, 2014
I've just posted a new poem called "Not Crazy" about... well, read it and find out. lol
I also just finished watching a great documentary called "The Woodmans" on Netflix that I had been putting off watching. I'm glad I finally did, it was very inspiring.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 29, 2014
I've posted a new poem called "Half the Man" which was inspired by the purging of an old self in order to embrace something new... And ANOTHER new poem called "Airborne" about transcending the reality that includes other people--what they think and say--and getting in touch with the joy and freedom within yourself.

Today's blog is HILARIOUS - A Bad Lip Reading of the NFL. LOL
THURSDAY, JANUARY 23, 2014
There are two new poems up. "Courage in Faith" is about a very important realization I had that the only person who has power over me is ME. "A Makeshift Prayer" is inspired by this journey I'm on to find peace with myself, with who I really am, and my prayer for the courage to remake myself. Whew, that's a lot of work. I've got to laugh at myself too. Enjoy, and let me know what you think. Oh, and here's a quote:
"Markings in dry clay disappear
TUESDAY, JANUARY 21, 2014
There's a new poem up called "The Surgeon" and a new blog called "Looks Like The Common Core Will Be Controlling Our Future." The poem is confessional, and the blog is in response to a Glenn Beck piece involving Bill Gates and the Common Core education initiative. Enjoy!

The 2014 Oscar nominations are out. I'll share my picks, and invite you to vote for your favorite for the Best Picture Academy Award. I've also added a new poem to the "V-Z" section titled "War," which is about the peace that comes when I allow myself to experience how I feel about the things that go on in my mind instead of fighting them.
THURSDAY, JANUARY 16, 2014
I've added ANOTHER poem to the "T" section called "Treadmill," about struggling to make it in life by creating a persona, getting nowhere, then trying again to make it in life as your true self. I'm being very honest and forthcoming with this poem, so go easy on me. xoxo
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 15, 2014
The fact that I have to type 2-0-1-4 instead of 2-0-1-3 is still foreign to me, and I always have to go back and delete the 3 to replace it with a 4. Anyway, I've posted a couple new blogs, one about a documentary called "The Anonymous People," and one about the people I see at Walmart. It's good for a laugh. I also wanted to share a great article I found in the New York Times related to mental illness called "His Heart, My Sleeve: Writing About My Brother" by Jay Neugeboren. I can't wait to read the book he talks about writing. I'm sure it's fantastic.
MONDAY, JANUARY 13, 2014
I've added two new poems to the site. The first is called "Dreams of a Real Life," and was added to the "D-E" section. It's a poem about someone wanting to die, but when faced with murder, recants and fights to survive and have a better life. The second is called "Fragile," and was posted to the "F-G" section. It's a poem about an already fragile soul taking a bad beating, then picking at and peeling the scabs until he falls apart.

I've officially launched the website for the project I've been planning for quite some time now. I finally had the guts to design a logo and put a name to an idea that I think will help a lot of people. It's called Gratefully Me, and is dedicated to those dealing with addiction and mental illness. There is a tremendous need for positivity, support, and fellowship in these communities, and the only people who can really make a difference are other people suffering from or dealing with addiction and mental illness. It takes one to know one, and it takes one to help one. Join me in expressing gratitude, and shedding a positive light on our struggles. The trying moments only make the joyous ones more precious.
SUNDAY, JANUARY 5, 2014
There's a new poem in the "R" section of the poetry collection called "Reconciliation" about me trying to deal with the loss of my mom. It's been 6 years, and I'm still working on it. Looks to be a life-long journey. I hope you enjoy it, and I hope it helps someone.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 3, 2014 - Happy New Year!
In the mood to read the transcript of a philosophical debate I had with myself this morning? Warning: the words God, Heaven, Devil, Angel, Faith, Science, Logic, Reason, Religion and Spirit are used in this writing. If you are prone to allergic reactions when exposed to religion, turn back now! Otherwise, I'd love to read your comments on the subject.
MONDAY, DECEMBER 30, 2013
I've added a new poem called "These Voices" to the poetry section. I began writing it a couple of weeks ago and just finished. Enjoy!
