Cocoon
My poems are rigid,
I'm sexually frigid, and crazy as a loon. I've got all the papers, the opiate tapers, there's madness coming soon. Then one day I will lose all skills other men use; a homeless, toothless goon. For that day I'll prepare, catch madness in a snare, in cahoots with the man in the moon. The pills on my plate are all that I ate since earlier this afternoon. Songs of clarity here in between my two ears will become my new favorite tunes. The gift of being free wasn't given to me, but how plush is this mental cocoon! © 2014 Nicholas Emeigh |
