These Voices
Days like this so cold and lonely
When I can handle sleeping only Admonishments boom in my ear My loneliness is lost to fear I'm trapped in here down very deep One of the voices in the heap Of broken chances, vile dreams That pick and poke and pull my seams I try to bring me back again Instead, I hear some other men My own ear can't hear my call My plea just echoes down the hall I must take care to look the part Of a normal, human work of art Not the mess of tangled wires Shorting out and causing fires That burn me down from inside out And from the flames I hear a shout It sounds like...Oh, my God, I see! If I kill them, I'm killing me. © 2013 Nicholas Emeigh |
