Warming Up To Change
In search of permanence where there is none;
It never did exist for anyone. I fight hard in the battles I have won, But winnings crack and crumble in the sun. How do you live when nothing lasts forever? To what end must we rise up and endeavor? I long for permanence, security; I put a lot into making me me, To ready myself for eternity Where everything is found where it should be. © 2014 Nicholas Emeigh |

Notes: This poem was written on Sunday, April 27, 2014. This poem is about my quest for permanence, security, safety, and comfort. I have an all encompassing need for comfort. Change has been forced on me all my life: death, loss, and other things have always been present in my life. My response to those things was to seek safety and comfort, but those needs have held me back in life. Nothing is permanent in this life, so maybe it is in the next one...
