Where is truth, and where are solutions?
Do they live somewhere in seclusion, hard to find, and only through some great quest? Or are they hidden in plain sight, not for mere mortals to see or to understand until they arrive at some level of enlightenment? Do I need to be a free mason to see them? Are they locked away in some room, a penthouse accessible only by a treacherous spiral staircase, and then at the top behind a heavy door to which only one man holds the key? Are they password protected? Encrypted? Because though I toil and search high and low, I have never found anything like a perfect truth or absolute solution to anything. Still I forge ahead. Still I go on searching until the buzzer sounds to tell me my time for searching has expired. © 2014 Nicholas Emeigh |

Notes: This poem was written on Thursday, February 6, 2014. It is an inquiry as to the existence of absolute truth and absolute solutions, and even though I can't see them readily, I keep on searching for them. Maybe one day I'll find them. Maybe they're harder to find the harder you look.
