FragileI am made of glass
with a plastic coating shrink wrapped protection covered, yet exposed such a fragile structure Everyone takes turns hitting me with a bat I crack and splinter glass shards held together by the shrink wrap I pick at the seams peel it back in frustration and slowly the shards fall break away from the whole until I crumble It is easier to clean the mess that results than to save the man sweeping the glass into a pile of broken dreams © 2014 Nicholas Emeigh |
