The Contortionist
Though the while has been short
the while that we've been in love,
it figures that I would resort
to metaphors like fitted gloves.
But somehow when our eyes first met
and stars aligned themselves above
two birds sang out and caused kismet
to grant us both this sappy love.
Realistically:
I did something stupid I shouldn't have done
I gave up a heart that I can not replace
to you, noble victor, your battle is won:
at hello Rome gave way to your beautiful face.
Mystically: let this last forever.
