First Fall Harvest
Halloween is coming,
fall is in the air, hummingbirds stopped humming, bats are out to scare; Jack-o-lantern carving, cooking up the seeds, work themselves to starving: kids out raking leaves; Piles swell in twilight, arms are strained and weak, tired now, souls take flight: bodies left to sleep. © 2013 Nicholas Emeigh |
