Painter Man
Oh! Painter man, your blood has spilled onto the canvas,
and it reaches for new crevices to fill on the rough surface making for a morbid scene of red on black as we stand and watch, swaying in the breeze. With tears of ignorance making for a crystallized view, our eyes become subconsciously entranced by the nauseating spin of the sirens and strobes that shouldn't be needed in the late afternoon light. We are the afternoon busy-bodies that have become what could be called Your Temporarily Devoted Following, quick to overlook the bittersweet fact that this is your masterpiece. © 2013 Nicholas Emeigh |

It was originally published to the web on January 29, 2007. The poem is about a tragic accident that happened right in front of my high school. I tell you more about the story in the readings.
